What goes on

Participation

Participation in the KIDSPORTS Invitational Powered by the Warsaw Sports Marketing Center is exclusive to KIDSPORTS basketball players.

KIDSPORTS executives will have a random lottery drawing to determine which of their teams get to participate in the tournament on a yearly basis. Grades of participants will range from 5th-8th, boys and girls.

The following rules apply to the 2013 KIDSPORTS Invitational:

  • 15 Minute Running Clocks
  • Half Court
  • Scoring by 1′s and 2′s
  • All shooting fouls = 1 free throw (unless fouled shooting a 2, then 2 free throws)
  • All non-shooting fouls = ball “checked up top”
  • Individual player fouls are not tracked
  • Ball must be “checked” behind the 3-point line after any change of possession
  • If there is a tie at the end of regulation, the game will be played under the “sudden death” format – next basket wins- the ball is “checked up top” by whichever team has the possession arrow
  • Technical fouls may be issued: 1technical foul = 1 free throw + possession, 2 technical fouls = done for the day

KIDSPORTS prides themselves on a program that allows every child throughout Eugene and Springfield a chance to play sports, regardless of their economic situation. Not only do they allow for kids to participate on teams, but also guarantee that they will get playing time in every game.
